DHIA has achieved Platinum award each year since 2020. Prior to that they were Gold in 2018 and Silver in 2017.
Dolores Huerta International Academy was honored with the prestigious CABE Seal of Excellence in 2023, a recognition that underscores its outstanding commitment to bilingual education and educational equity. The award, presented by the California Association for Bilingual Education (CABE), celebrates schools that excel in fostering biliteracy, multicultural competency, and inclusive learning environments for multilingual and English learner students. Dolores Huerta International Academy is very proud to be an International Baccalaureate Primary Years School. The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) for children aged 3 - 12 nurtures and develops young students as caring, active participants in a lifelong journey of learning. The PYP offers an inquiry-based, transdisciplinary curriculum framework that builds conceptual understanding. It is a student-centered approach to education for children aged 3-12. It reflects the best of educational research, thought leadership and experience derived from IB World Schools.
Dolores Huerta was awarded the Educational Results Parntership Honor Roll Award in 2018-2019. Schools and districts that appear on the Honor Roll have demonstrated consistently high levels of student achievement, improvement in achievement levels over time, and a reduction in achievement gaps among student populations. The selection process also includes measures of college readiness for high schools. The program further recognizes STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) schools with a high percentage of low-income students that have demonstrated superior achievement.
DHIA also received the award in 2017-2018.
